Elizabeth Sutherland

Liz is an associate in the private client department of the firm. She was educated at the Convent of the Sacred Heart and Aberdeen University where she gained an LLB degree in 1967. She first joined Burnett & Reid as an assistant in 1969.

She has experience in general private client work and also of advising clients in connection with residential, rural and landed estate property transactions. However, in recent years she has primarily concentrated on executry administration (dealing with estates ranging from a few thousand pounds to several millions), inheritance tax matters, claims for relief for agricultural and business property, the preparation of wills, administration of trusts, and advising on and preparing powers of attorney and living wills.

She is married and has 2 grown up children and 4 grandchildren. Away from the office, she enjoys Bridge, cookery, reading and walking the dog.
