James Herbertson

James is an Associate in the Agricultural Department of the firm. He is a graduate of Edinburgh University and joined Burnett & Reid as a solicitor in 2009, having fully qualified in 2007.

He practices principally in rural property matters, advising clients regularly in connection with property transactions, farm purchases and sales, woodland/forestry transactions, agricultural tenancies and farming partnerships. He also factors one of the many rural sporting estates under Burnett & Reid’s management.

In addition James has a keen interest in the renewables sector and has experience in advising clients on aspects of renewable energy projects, including negotiating commercial terms and contracts for onshore wind farms.

Being native of Dornoch, in his free time James is a keen golfer and also enjoys hill walking and cycling.
