Joanna Hardie

Jo carries out a broad range of court work for the firm. She has gained significant experience in family law since qualifying and takes a particular interest in cases involving children and their welfare. She has been instructed in the preparation of welfare reports for the Sheriff court. She is a member of the Family Law Association.

She regularly advises clients with regard to:

  • Separation
  • Divorce / Dissolution of civil partnership
  • Parental Rights and Responsibilities
  • Residence and contact with children
  • Adoption
  • Cohabitants Rights
  • Referral to the Children’s panel system
  • Protective orders
  • Guardianship applications and Intervention orders for adults who lack capacity

In addition Jo advises both private and commercial clients with regard to contractual disputes, disputes relating to heritable property (including recovery of possession), some employment issues including compromise agreements, debt recovery and bankruptcy.

Jo also has experience in assisting client’s with Criminal Injuries Compensation claims and their appeal.
